Our experience representing abuse survivors with claims against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has given us a unique perspective on the cultural aspects of the Church that allow for childhood sexual abuse to occur.  We understand the hierarchy within the Church and the focus on handling claims internally that allow for abuse claims to be silenced.

Too often, reports of sexual abuse in the Church are not reported to authorities outside of the Church.  Instead, the claims are dealt with internally by the stake or ward's male leaders.
